Past, Present and Future

Over the summer months asylum seekers and refugees from BRASS enjoyed days out and activities with cameras in and around Bolton. They documented historic buildings, explored the surrounding countryside, visited art galleries and museums as well as spoke about their past, their present and any hopes they had for their future in the UK.

Each week Adrian would show them old photographs from Bolton Museum (and from online photographic archives) and tell them a brief history from the period in time they were about to visit. The photographs and conversations that came from the trips out culminated in a photography exhibition in the Victoria Hall and the publishing of their own personal calender and a group calender for BRASS.

Funded and Supported by Oxfam, Bolton at Home, Bolton Council and Regional Asylum Activism.
