Rumworth in Colour

The Bigger Picture was granted a 'Grass Roots' fund from Bolton CVS to develop a photo book in the Rumworth area. 

 

This one year project identified members of the ward to participate and contribute to a collective photo book.

 

Community members were targeted from diverse social and economical backgrounds to participate in photographs and tell  their own lives, how they had come to the area and how they had seen the area evolve. As the Rumworth area is recognised as an area with very high proportion of BME communities the book address the issues around social migration and intergration.

 

Rumworth in Colour culminated in a series of photo exhibitions, including a series of pop up exhibitions in the park and the shop fronts on Deane Road for all the community to share and enjoy.
