

Past Present and Future - a calender of photography days and activities
Today was the first of many dates in a calender of photographic activities and days out with participants of BRASS (Befriending Asylum Seekers and Refugees) who are based at the Victoria Hall in Bolton. Ali from Afghanistan, Auobiada from Sudan and Robin from Pakistan joined me today in a short trip around Queens Park and the college campus area of Bolton. The aim was to get them familiar with the SLR digital cameras so that they can teach others how to use them in the weeks


"Our Stories" - a digital storytelling project with Brass
Funded by Bolton at Home, "Our Stories" is a digital storytelling project with participants of Brass - a charity working with asylum seekers and refugees in Bolton : http://www.brassbolton.org/ The asylum seekers, refugees and volunteers talk on camera about cultural stories, traditions and myths from their own countries of origin. These include the mystical appearance of a mermaid called 'Mami Wata' who appears in central and west Africa. Others participants talk about items


The Living Mural by Adrian Barber
The Living Mural Project
On the 11th December 2013 the exhibition and unveiling of the Living Mural project at www.brassbolton.org took place at the Victoria Halls in Bolton, the home of Brass a charity that works with asylum seekers and refugees. The Mayor of Bolton came down in the daytime to unveil the mural and Jon Lord (CEO) of Bolton at Home (who funded the project) hosted the evening event, both times of day were supported by hundreds of guests, service users, volunt
